‘Pada Software’ is a Word processor for Indic Scripts, especially for Kannada script.
‘Pada‘ means a ‘Word‘ in the Indian language Kannada.
Kannada is mainly used in the southern region of India. It is the official language of Karnataka state and spoken by approximately 60 million people in the world.
ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಪದ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ‘ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತೇವೆ.
It is available for linux and windows
It got four keyboard layouts to choose - Phonetic layout for beginners, Phonetic layout for intermediate, K.P Rao's Nudi layout for Advanced and Google Transliteration.
The software is a collection of tools for processing Indic scripts. Specialized Editor, IMEs (Input Method Engine) and PadaKosha (Dictionary) etc. For Kannada script few additional features are available. Please check features page for details. Along with ANSI (English), The following Indic scripts are supported,
PadaKosha – Offline dictionary for Kannada(only) Language. English – Kannada, Kannada-Kannada. Contains more than 2 lakh (2 hundred thousand) words already.
Pada-IME : Using which could write Indic scripts directly in any other windows application, For ex:
Emails, Notepad, WordPad, MS Word, MS Excel, FireFox, Internet Explorer and etc.
